Brad Marchand of the Boston Bruins will bring Stanley Cup to Halifax

Brad Marchand had an great rookie year in the NHL with the Boston Bruins. Marchand scored two goals in the 7th Game final of the 2011 Stanley Cup Final against the Vancouver Canucks.

When Sydney Crosby brought the cup home to Halifax, Nova Scotia in 2009 an estimated crowd of 25,000 people showed up! Brad Marchand will get to bring the Stanley Cup home to Halifax, NS for 24 hours.

2011 Federal Election in Atlantic Canada

Atlantic Canada may see a lot of changes in the 2011 Federal Election. The Conservatives are gaining more popularity than normal on the East Coast of Canada. There are 32 available seats in the four Atlantic Canada provinces. The Liberal leader, Michael Ignatieff hasn’t focused very much on the East Coast and has not built very good relations with Atlantic Canada. Liberals have dropped significantly in popularity while the Harper Conservative and NDP have gained.

Travel Channel Feature on Nova Scotia

Mike McClean of the Travel Channel discovers one of the prettiest little corners of the new world, Nova Scotia. This is a great video highlighting many great locations and features Nova Scotia has to offer. Starting off with the fact that the province is just 700 km in length and there is 7000 km of coastline. Some location features in the video include: Mahone Bay, Lunenburg, Peggy’s Cove, Halifax, Grand Pre’ and Port Royal (Annapolis Royal).
